Voting
This blog is different from our family blog in that these are little pieces of our "everyday". Things that happen in our everyday life. Things that we do in our everyday routine. Things to remember, but they might not have made it into our scrapbooks...thus the Project Life/Project 365 approach. Hope you enjoy!

OH...and the word "Voting" below my header? Don't know what it is, nor how to remove it!

I've spent more time than usual at my dad's quilt shop lately, taking photos for their web site.  Max enjoys going with me...and usually requests to get in at least one photo.

More cookie fun.  This time I played with several different patterns.  I went to a scrapbooking crop at church, and this tray of cookies was my food treat for the day.

Our dog, Jazzy, absolutely LOVES it when Claire comes home from school.   Jazzy runs to Claire and rolls over to have her tummy scratched.  Jazzy apparently enjoys music as well.  I often find her curled up on the piano bench when Claire is doing her piano practice.

Another trampoline pic...just didn't have another photo for today.  It was a beautiful day, so Claire and Max went outside after school.  A little while later, I heard lots of laughter in the back yard.  I found Claire, Max and the neighbor friend playing "crack the egg" on the trampoline.

A simple request - asking Max to put on his pj's.   A few minutes later, Max comes in and tells me he can't reach his pants because they are on the door.  Knowing full well that his pj's are on the bed, I ask Max again to put his pj's on.  His reply, "They're up too high on the door."   As I walk to the bedroom, I see exactly what he means.  Yes, the pj's ARE up on top of the door.  It seems Max has been playing a game of throwing his clothes into the air!

My daughter, Allyson, and I really like fruit pies.  We have found that the little baked pies at McDonald's are pretty tasty.  (I know - we're horrible.)   We sometimes order the pies and take them home to eat later.  When I opened the refrigerator this morning, this sign was posted as a warning to everyone in the family...this pie belonged to Allyson!

We usually go out for lunch after church on Sundays.  Today's choice was the Acambaro Mexican Restaurant.  Our family LOVES salsa, so this is always a good choice.

While we worked on cleaning out the garage, the kids found more pleasant things to do.  This is how I found them...playing ring-around-the-rosey on the trampoline.  It's a rare sight to see all 4 kids playing together, so I had to snap a photo.

Another lucky day at the company store!  We had planned to organize our detached garage over the weekend, and were thrilled to find all of these storage tubs on sale at the store.  Perfect timing!

This is a view I see quite often...Randy leaving the airport terminal.  If Randy has a business trip, I am his pick-up person.  :-)

I love it when the kids bring artwork home from school.  Sadly, this doesn't happen often as schools just don't promote art much anymore.  Today was a good day though.  Claire brought home this cute drawing of toucans.

I have always loved my mom's cornbread...it's always thicker and tastier than any other I've tried.  When I got married, I asked mom for the recipe, but it was one of those "a little of this, and a smidgen of that" kind of recipes that I couldn't get quite right.  I am proud to say that I finally perfected the recipe several years ago, and get the best cornbread every time I make it.  My kids don't love cornbread, but I'm going to pass down "my" recipe to them anyway.  :-)

2 c. white cornbread mix (a scant removed, and replaced with all-purpose flour)
1 egg, beaten
1-1/2 c. milk

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Pour about 3 tablespoons of oil into 8x8 baking pan (swirl it around to coat the edges and side of pan) and heat in oven for a few minutes (while mixing other ingredients).  Mix together the cornbread/flour mix, egg and milk.  Carefully pour in the hot oil (from the baking pan) into the bread mixture and mix well.  Pour mixture back into the hot baking pan.  Bake for 25 minutes.  Cut into squares and slather your square with a tub o' butter!  :-) Yum!

Spring time in Arkansas means the weather can be warm one day, and cold the next.  This makes it really hard to know how to dress each day.  As the girls were getting ready to leave for school this morning, I noticed the big differences in what they were wearing.  One in Ugg boots - the other in sandals.  So fitting for this time of year.  :-)
